Elder Cowan: Minneola (it has hills)

Well folks, I got the transfer call and I have been assigned to the Minneola/Clermont area. We work mainly in Clermont but go up north to Minneola from time to time. I guess the thing that really stands out about the area is the fact that it is one of the hilliest places in all of Florida. Now we all know that Florida is flat as a pancake, well I guess Minneola didn’t get the news. Go check it out online and see all the hills that we have to bike. Its fun though.

The area is a good area and the people are very humble so we have the opportunity to talk to many people and get appointments to come by and teach them. In Lake Mary it was more difficult but we ended up talking to more people. So my companion is an old friend! Elder Smith is his name and we were actually in the MTC together back about 17 months ago. So its like having a long lost friend come back and hang out with you! WE have been talking about the MTC and Bumby a lot (He served in Bumby as well) so it has been fun. I am still over a bunch of missionaries so that is fun as well. We have us a set of Minneola sisters, Clermont Elders, Clermont sisters, and Clermont Spanish missionaries. The zone i am in is considered the boonies of the mission. I’m not in the boonies but it does have a very country feel to things. Lots of rolling hills and some farm land.

We have a couple people we are working with so that is always good to come to an area and actually have some work going and not have it be a bummer area. I do miss Lake Mary but its always there for me to go back to and visit after. I have a lot of friends so it’ll be a nice reunion as well.

I guess that’s really it for us this week. Always good to hear from y’all so take care and have a happy week!

Love

Cowan
