Elder Rasi-Koskinen: Awesome Sunday Devotional

I thought I’d start by just telling you how awesome the Sunday devotional was. We got to listen to two of the coolest LDS musicians in existence ATM. First, being the Mormon Tabernacle choir organist, and second being David Archuletta. After the first few organ songs, David bore his testimony of the work and boy, was it powerful. After his testimony (story about an investigator that joined the church in a very peculiar way and ended up serving a mission).

The story goes like this. David was on a train to another location in his mission. He turned around and saw a girl sitting alone in one of the train stalls. She had piercings and came across as someone who would turn away any message that he would have told her. He then was prompted by the spirit to hand her an invitation to an activity that was being held that night at a ward building or stake center (I can’t remember which). As David’s stop was approaching, he listened to what he called “The strongest urge from the spirit” and gave the girl a card and told her that he would love to see her there that night. Weeks passed by without word of “Ingrid” and whether or not she had attended the activity. A few more days passed and David was contacted by a group of missionaries asking if David knew a girl named “Ingrid” in which he starkly responded, “Yes, I know Ingrid!!, what’s going on?” They then explained that Ingrid had such a good experience at the activity that she had called the missionaries, taken the discussions, and had set up an appointment to get baptized.

The spirit in the MTC auditorium was so strong that I’m pretty sure every “girl” In the room was bawling. Long story short, Ingrid talked to her sister who took the discussions, who talked to her family and had them take the discussions. They will be sealed in the temple for time and all eternity sometime this month (I think). David also sang, “Be Still My Soul,” which was also an incredible experience.
