ELDER OLDROYD: ANOTHER MISSIONARY DAY
So have you guys seen the new movie “Meet the Mormons” yet?? All of the Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders had a big meeting the first week of the month and we actually watched it while we ate lunch. Ha-ha how sweet is that??!! It’s pretty amazing! The closest one is in Pennsylvania! It’s like an hour and a half away. There is only one that is showing in Ohio and that’s like 3 1/2 to 4 hours away. I can’t believe that they made that movie!! The whole reason behind it is to put it on Netflix. That’s just what I hear.
Well my new companion is Elder Shin! He came out with Elder Curtis, so he is only 3 months behind me! He is a great guy! His dad is actually full Korean which is pretty neat. Unfortunately Elder Shin doesn’t know any Korean that would be pretty cool to learn. He is a very intellectual person. Home schooled, really smart, really great with computers and is really good at school!! Ha-ha we get along really well though. We are having fun with each other. He is a great guy and it’s good to be companions with him! I’m trying to help him play sports and get used to sports. So we will see how that goes..
Well to update you on what is up with the area. Nicole who was going to be getting baptized next Saturday dropped us.. Yeah she dropped us.. It was very depressing to be completely honest with you! Ha-ha I never saw it coming. But she sent us like an 11 page text saying how she and her husband Shane who is a less active is going to get into a divorce and how she wouldn’t want to go to the same church and how awkward that would be at the moment. Also that she doesn’t think drinking a glass of wine is bad. She said she doesn’t want to make a covenant and break it. She wouldn’t want to feel the guilt. So it’s great she understands that it’s a covenant she is making. But she will get baptized later on. But right now. She doesn’t want us to come over. I let her borrow my small pair of scriptures just because that’s how close we were with each other. She wants to still use them but it gives us an excuse to go back there 
We had some really good lessons this week and it’s a great time to be a missionary in Ohio right now!! Keep your heads up high and never forget the fundamentals.
