ELDER OLDROYD: Terry the Champ!!

I don’t have much time left so I apologize in advance! Well we weren’t able to meet with Terry and Tina this past week, but what was amazing was that Terry came to church! He missed last week and we had no idea why. But he told us later on. He grew up in Elyria and he has a GTO that he takes to car shows. Well this one was on Sunday and he never misses it. He was contemplating it for the longest time but since it was good weather he decided to go. He was regretting it as soon as he got there and knew he needed to be at church he said. He ended up for the very first time took third place and got this big trophy which is pretty sweet. But he told us yesterday that he is never going to do that again because he needs to come to church every Sunday. That’s amazing! That was such an awesome thing coming out of his mouth! We couldn’t believe it. But this was his first fast and testimony meeting. We prepared him about it being a little different. It was really neat because Mike Bryant went up and started talking about how he went to a car show the other week in Kentucky and it just was speaking right to Terry. We were talking after church and the Spirit prompted me to speak about baptism. So I followed it, one of my questions was “Terry do you believe that this church is true?” Immediately he said yes, yes I do and got teary eyed. It was so amazing! The Spirit was so strong. He is trying to get his wife Tina to come with him but she feels like she can’t because she is a smoker and that she will be judged. She is just scared which I don’t blame her, we both think that if she comes once she will feel comfortable to keep coming and stop smoking soon! Terry is also working on his son to try and get him to come to church! Terry is the most amazing man you will ever meet! He is super tender hearted. That was the biggest miracle this week.
