Sister Zackrison: Hoovskies

If y’all were wondering, Elder Forbes, one of the AP’s I serve with, says “Hoovskies” all the time in place of Hoover. So the title of my email was a little tribute to him. Haha. Anyways, Hello!! I don’t have a lot of time today, so this email will be a bit short. Not too much happened this week. I officially got my first trigger bites. Triggers are like ticks…they burrow in your skin. We aren’t positive that they were triggers…but on day two they got bigger and more red. That is what it looked like. So I walked around with little spots of nail polish all over my legs so that I could kill them. Haha. What an adventure.

We spent a lot of time tracting since my mission president wants us to do it each and every day! Killer right? I am growing so much…I never knew it could be so hard or so scary to knock on a door. It has really put me out of my comfort zone. But never fear, the Lord has taken care of me, and has given me comfort through the scriptures. I was reading in the scriptures yesterday, and I read a section that really touched me. It was Ether 2. I was able to apply them to missionary work, and it just opened my eyes so much. I switched out some of the words, and I would like to share it with you.

“And it came to pass that the Lord commanded them that they should ago forth into Hoover, yea, into that neighborhood where there never had the gospel been.”

v.5 “And it came to pass that the Lord commanded them that they should ago forth into Hoover, yea, into that neighborhood where there never had the gospel been. And it came to pass that the Lord did go before them, and did talk with them through the spirit, and gave directions whither they should travel….”   v. 7 “And the Lord would not suffer that they should stop beyond the first door, but he would that they should come forth even unto the homes of promise, which was choice above all other people, which the Lord God had preserved for righteous missionaries.” It helped me to see that the Lord needs us to keep going. Even when it gets tough, the Lord will provide us direction just like he did the brother of Jared. I am very grateful for the scriptures, and the Holy Ghost that teaches as we study.

Anyways, that is about it for now. :) I am still doing great, and loving my time as a missionary. The quote that I liked the most this week is this, “Grant me patience to deal with my blessings.” Trials come, and trials go. But in the end, they are blessings. They mold us into who we need to be. I love it. I love when the Lord takes the time to mold me.

Have a great week y’all! :)
Love,
Sister Zackrison
