Elder Powell: Last Week

My Friends!

First of all, thank you to each of you for all the Birthday wishes this past week. It feels great to be “Adult Legal” at 21. It was a great day celebrated at the Mall Food Court for Chick-Fil-A, 7-eleven, and two family parties that put on a festival for me.

As unknown about what may happen next Monday for emailing purposes and time constraints; I want to express my appreciation to each of you for all the love and support these past two years. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to be a full-time Missionary. This has been a special time of my life to be be able to learn, grow, and strengthen my relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ. I have cherished and loved being able to talk and serve each of my brothers and sisters in the Texas Dallas Mission. I have seen and experienced miracles and tender mercies from the Lord that I cannot deny Him. I love Him and know that he loves and deeply cares about me and each of you.

Thank you for putting up with my #FridayNightDateNight stories and all my randomness. I have loved sharing these stories and I pray I was able to invite the Holy Ghost and Testify of the Plan of Salvation. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we can understand and have the comfort to know that families can be together forever. We are blessed to be on the Earth at this time and feel pure joy each day.

I will treasure my experiences in my heart and life forever. I will not have any regrets of my time as a Representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. I recommend a full-time mission for each person that is in the stage of consideration. It is indeed not for everyone, it is a personal decision between yourself and the Lord, but nothing but goodness comes from serving a mission. This has been the best two years FOR my life.

To wrap things up, I want to share my experience that happened at the Mall on my Birthday this past week! This was close enough to #FridayNightDateNight.

We were with two other Elders at the Food Court eating Chick-Fil-A at the mall. A young couple came up to us and asked if we were Mormons. We chatted for a little bit and they had five question already to go for us. They were really uplifting questions that we were able to strengthen their faith with. We moved into teaching about Eternal Marriage since this young couple has been dating for nine months, and they LOVED it. That was definitely something that caught their attention and started freaking out about – like ME! It was exciting. They became new investigators. They left, and, exactly two minutes later, exact same thing happened! Another young couple who have been married for three months came up to us and asked if we were Mormons. We got back into the conversation and talked about Eternal Marriage. They both started crying and they were dying to learn more. Four new people to teach within 15 minutes. It was the best way to celebrate my Birthday. They were all adorable!! The truthfulness of Temples and Eternal Families is everything. I am so grateful I have this knowledge in my personal life.

Until next week, I will see you all on Wednesday July, 25th @ 4:00pm. Thank you all for your love and support. Have a wonderful week!

Bye :)
