ELDER OLDROYD: CHRISTMAS SKYPE

What’s up guys!!

You liked the pig story huh?? Well I have another story to tell you but it’s kinda freaky! Ha-ha so we went to this somewhat of an investigators house. He is always drunk and smoking cigs and is no way progressing in his life or in the Gospel whatsoever. We just wanted to be with him and see if we could help him in anyway. We knocked on his door, without letting him know we just stopped by. That’s what we do every single time. He is always super nice and makes sure I sit next to him for some reason. His breath smells terrible, hasn’t brushed his teeth in a while. Has a very strong odor with alcohol and smoke breath. Just nasty ha-ha. But he was absolutely crazy insane this last time we came over. I did the math and he had over 72 ounces of beer. He was sloshed. He stood up and said he wants to go and kill somebody and then kill himself. It was insane. For a little bit, I totally thought I was going to die ha-ha. He said he wanted to hold people hostage ha-ha.  he was saying really crazy things. I straight up just asked him, you’re not going to kill us are you Ken?? Ha-ha he laughed and said of course not! You’re God’s people, I would never do that. He said that he has a lot of pressure coming through his head and wants to cut his head open to relieve the pressure and pointed to me and said I want you to sew it up. Ha-ha it was really really weird to say the least. So we got out of there and told him that we are not coming back! Ha-ha thought I might just share a freaky story because there are some weird people.

To top it off with a miracle though. It was about 8:20 at night and we are supposed to be at our apartment at 9 unless we are at a teaching appointment then no later than 9:30. Well we didn’t know what to do. We were parked outside our garage and we said a prayer to be guided and directed. Well we sat there for a little bit trying to listen to the Spirit. Inspiration hit me, we have gift bags from when Gladys came a few months ago. It consists of a few of her songs that she and the choir sang, a Book of Mormon and a DVD of the Restoration. We took took one of those and just started walking down our street. We ran into our neighbor Richard, who we actually invited to the Fireside to Gladyst. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to come, due to his son coming into town from overseas. He was outside and that’s where the Spirit was taking us, it was amazing! I don’t think he had anything of those things that gift bag (Glady bag I call it) had to offer. A week prior to this miracle we gave him a “He is the Gift” pass a long card. If you haven’t seen it, you need to watch it on christmas.mormon.org or even YouTube. It’s a short small to the point clip about Christmas. He ended up watching that and he was pretty excited to get the Glady bag. It was a huge miracle that day. It tends to happen.  The neatest miracles are at that awkward time between 8 and 9 at night and you’re not sure what to do or where to go. It all starts with a prayer And depending if you’re truly listening to the Spirit, you’ll be guided. You will be put in the right place at the right time.

I’m stoked for Christmas! I was talking to my Ward Mission Leader (Brother Brew) I told him that I honestly am not too worried on being home for Christmas. I didn’t truly wish I was home, I hope you don’t take that the wrong way. Ha-ha I mean I miss my family, but the Spirit really has brought it to my attention that this is where I need to be. I really am so happy I’m out here this Christmas. It’s amazing to feel that from the Spirit to know everything is alright ya know?? I’m excited to Skype my family and to see their beautiful faces. I miss them, I love them. We are where we need to be in life at the moment! Even though I told you that first story just know I’m safe, I’m good, happy thankful to be a servant of the Lord! He takes pretty good care of me and if something happens, the Lord has good insurance I’ll talk to you guys in a few days! Dueces!!
