ELDER COWAN: BAPTISM!

How’s it going this week! This week was pretty good for us. We were able to have a baptism which probably is the biggest news of the week!  We had been working with Athena for a couple of weeks now so it was so good to finally see her get baptized. She was able to get confirmed the next day at church so it worked out really well. We are now just working with her friend and we are expecting to set with the baptismal date tonight. So I hope it goes well for us.

In other news, we were able to find a woman from the Bahamas and start teaching her. She is so cool. She has the best accent in the world. She went to www.mormon.org and found out more about the church and wanted to learn more. I love it when media referrals come through and we start teaching people that way. It makes it a little more fun than tracting.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays on the mission. We try to get into as many members homes as possible so we have a lot more Thanksgiving meals than one big meal. Imagine about three huge meals. So we are going excited.  We have a couple lined up already and we are just working on more.  Don’t worry we’re not being a burden we just like eating turkey a lot!

This next week should hold some fun things for us too. We get to try new a type of contacting which should be pretty fun. It’s nothing to secret it’s just not been announced yet. But I’ll just say that it has to do with Christmas. We have some great ideas for it, such as going to the parking caroling, so it should have a huge impact on our missionary work. So far Florida’s getting excited for Christmas. We are seeing a lot more Christmas trees and lights being put up almost daily. I’m getting so excited.  I hope you all are doing well. I’m praying for all of you constantly and hoping that things are going well in each of your individual lives. Take care and have a good week and most importantly Happy Thanksgiving!
Love
