Elder Oldroyd: Firewood and Halloween

To whoever this concerns,

Being engulfed with sports is seriously what I loved about growing up! I would like to thank my parents for putting me in those sports, I loved every second of it! I miss it like crazy but that’s what happens when you grow up huh? You tend to grow up and have to do other things.

Well I’m thankful that we are finally not sick anymore ha-ha. We can actually have a full day doing missionary work. That’s the one thing I don’t like doing, is sitting and laying down, sleeping. Sometimes you need it but other times I just want to get out and work! No matter what the entails, I just want to get out of the house! It’s great that we are able to do that.

One really fun thing we did is we crossed in the Ohio River over a sketchy bridge to get into West Virginia. We got a 9 man crew and we surprised these members from the ward with a wood cutting project. We dropped a few trees and we were cutting them up and splitting them. I’m tellin you what, I love doing this ha-ha. It’s my favorite kind of service. If I lived out here I will totally burn wood. Even just having a working fireplace sounds wonderful to me. I’m excited for winter because that means fireplaces will be on! It’s weird to think about how Christmas is not far away at all. That means we will be seeing each other soon! If I’m still in this area, which I’m sure I will be, you’ll be able to see the Clark family and get to talk to them over Skype as well!

I really hope all things will go well with the dude and get the correct treatment that he needs. I can’t believe that.. It’s really upsetting to think where it might have come from, but I hope we can do what we can do. You guys are always in my prayers! We know that prayer works, so that is a great thing to understand and can help any situation.

In our Ward, we had a Halloween party chili cook off! Man I will tell you what! That chili was some of the best chili I have tasted. But Buck Williams, the guy that can kill you with one hand, rip your heart out and bends a kitchen knife with his hand made chili with like 15 Habenour’s. It was the hottest thing ever ha-ha. We did some service at his house earlier that day, we tasted the chili from point A to point Z ha-ha. It got hotter and hotter every taste test. I took like 4 bites and I was done with it. It was a fairly good turnout. We had about maybe 50 people. We only have about 100 come to church if that. Ha-ha it’s crazy to think what Utah wards are like. It’s unheard of sharing a building for two wards. It will blow people away to think if we had that.

I can’t believe the Wersland’s got their mission call! I have been telling everyone! Ha-ha. I’m glad you enjoyed the primary program! We had ours as well. Man I was stoked the night before! It was really good, this ward does a good job with what they have! We just need more people going out teaching with us!

I hope y’all have a great week and that you will enjoy Halloween! I’m jealous that you guys will be going trick or treating without me!! Ha-ha Love you!!!
