ELDER OLDROYD: I HATE BEING SICK!!!

What’s going on!!

Here is a pic of my new companion Elder Shin.

So life here has been a little crazy!! The sicknesses is going around and I got sick! I gave it to my companion and it mutated and got me sick again! There has been a lot of sickness in the apartment and we’re trying to get better. The Clark’s who actually sends you pictures and that song that we sang at the baptism gave us medicine to help out ha-ha. I love the Clark’s with all of my heart! They are the family here in the Lisbon Ward. I’m tellin you what, there whole family is great and it’s great to be with them.

We will be sharing stories back and forth when I get home. I can already see it now. I’m thankful for the stories my family has told me and it feels good to hear them from them. I don’t know what it is about hearing stories from return missionaries but it makes me feel great inside knowing that they truly “Grew” on their mission. I can’t wait to see people from my mission many years from now. Everyone will be grown up. I have really good relationships here in this Ward. It’s great to feel the love that these people have for the missionaries.

I really enjoyed doing things with my family. Good memories right there! I remember that dad and I carved out something of the Raiders and won a huge basket from Kirk’s chiropractic office. That was awesome!

This week we had really good talks. One was a recent convert of about two months. She talked about joy and happiness. It was great to hear, even though she had so many struggles going on at once, she was still able to have the joy and happiness in her life. If you read throughout the scriptures, you will notice how many scriptures there really are about joy and happiness. I thought it was crazy how many scriptures she pulled out! We can’t enjoy life if we aren’t doing joyous things and doing things that will make us happy. It’s a great feeling to have that peace in our lives and to love the days we have with each other. The other talk was –  “We are all representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints” how neat is that?? We truly are all representing his church. Just by our example can be a great way to represent this church.

This week was a rough week because we were all sick, but hey life goes on right?
