Sister Chamberlain: Armenia :)

Quote of the week…

“The end result has already been decided; good will overcome evil. All that we have to do is choose which team I am going to play for. There is no bench to sit in this game.”

-President Eyring

So guess what! I am serving with my sister now! Well not yet I will pick her up on Wednesday and today I am heading to Kingston for a couple of days so I am not by myself while sister Ross goes on home. Sister McLeod just finished training her, and sister Barnes is leaving the Isle of Wight and going to go with sister McLeod!! It’s a whole family affair :) Sister Steffensen is going to Jersey which is a bitty island further south than the Isle of Wight. They have to fly in a little plane and they don’t get to leave unless they are being moved and they can only have a small carry on so they have to leave most of their things at the mission office. Oh and guess what else I am the sister training leader now for the Staines zone :) So for those who don’t know what that is I’ll let you know when I know haha just kidding I do kinda know. I am the one the sisters go to if they have issues if it isn’t something major. I guess when they made the age change they were a lot more worried about elders and sisters talking too much and starting to like each other so they made sister training leaders. We also conduct exchanges and to go to mission leadership training and make sure the sisters are doing alright with the work and emotionally and such. I guess I am just acting as a big sister which is weird because I am younger than most of the sisters in my zone so that will be interesting. Pray for my confidence because I need it.

This last week has been a good one. It has been a bit hard with Sister Ross going home. I’ve thought about home more this last week than my whole mission and it just makes you trunky (homesick) when you’re not the one going home haha. But I can’t expect Sister Ross not to ever talk about home right when she is going home :) She’d go home weirder than missionaries already are when they go home ;)

Aki and Mario are doing amazing! They both came to church on Sunday and they both loved it!! Aki more than Mario but what can you do. Good things will happen for both of them I just know it. So Kirsty is most likely going to prison for cocaine issues. She is clean now and getting everything back together but they think her son had one of her pills so obviously no one is happy about that. We are giving her a prison pack of gospel things she can read and be converted and then when she he comes out she can be baptized :) Oh this is way cool. So there is this woman named Lara from Australia who was baptized this March. She shortly went less active because she had a mental break down and her children went to their dad’s in Chicago. Our bishop tried to help and did an amazing job she was so much better and then she basically said no forget about it I don’t want anything to do with the church. Well last week bishop was able to get in contact with her and she said she wanted to meet with us. Well we did and was basically like "I’m coming back this is what I am doing this is how I am going to do it and this is how you can help me." It was the coolest thing. She is just doing it all herself! All we are doing is texting her a quote or scripture during the day and celebrating with her at the end of the day when she has made it through without a cigarette!

So two funny things first is sister Ross and are terrible at not eating sugar. We totally failed. We just kept forgetting honestly forgetting and then we just starting “forgetting.” Second thing was I ran into my first American to English word problem. I said a word in a prayer actually that means something really, really bad here. Had no clue and it isn’t even vaguely bad at home. Goodness. I was so embarrassed when my comp told me. I am glad she told me though!!!

Good things to come :) Good things happening now :)

Love you all!!! Love, Sister chamberlain
