Sister Chamberlain: MOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

So let me just first tell you about all of the mold I found! Our bathroom has just been smelling like mildew for the past little while and I can’t stand it so I decided I was going to figure out why. Basically our little plastic bath tub is in a wood box, that is the best way to describe it. We don’t have a shower curtain or door, just this little swinging thing that covers like 1/4 of the bath tub and keeps about a 1/4 of the water from going out of the shower. So I thought that the water was running down the side and getting inside the wooden box and making it reek or like under the carpet or something. There is a little door on the box that is screwed shut that I thought if I opened I could see if there was a little mold and give it a good scrubbing. Well long story short we finally borrowed a screw driver and I opened it up and the whole inside is completely covered in mold and the wood is rotted and falling apart. And it wasn’t even because of the door. Whoever caulked where the bath tub and the wall, underneath the shower head, come together didn’t do a very good job because water just pours down. so we will be doing something about that soon! Well someone will be doing something about it.

Goodness I don’t really have any good stories for you I wish I did. I feel bad because the last few emails haven’t been that great with good stories from the work. I am just going to be honest it is just really, really hard here on the island. There are over 700 Jehovah Witnesses here who knock and talk to people all the time because it is their thing that all of their members go out and do that. It makes it difficult for us because anyone we talk to jump to think we are Jehovah’s and won’t let us talk or even if they realize we aren’t they are tired of talking to people about religion. With all of this being said though I know that we can make a difference and that does not mean that there aren’t loads of people that are out there that could be happily ready to listen! We just need to find them :) It was frustrating when I first got moved here because every missionary I talked to that asked where I was moving to just laughed when I said I was coming here because “it’s a dead area” or some other lame thing. Because it is not a dead area it is just a bit harder than others. We will see miracles eventually if we just keep working hard which we are doing! We do see small miracles everyday though. :) Oh and Barney our one investigator that was going to be baptized this Saturday is moving to Colorado now. he is going to work for that gun smoke store that was in that TV show American Guns or whatever so that will be good for him I guess hopefully the missionaries will find him there!

For today’s p-day adventure we are going to this pagan temple thing out in the middle of nowhere. There are a lot of pagans on the island and I guess the Elders were talking to one and they said we should go check it out. They don’t believe in having a meeting house or anything because it is all about mother nature so I guess it is just like this way pretty forresty area. Oh my and guess what is so sad. My camera died. I think that it is just the battery being worn out from the voltage difference but we will see so sorry if my terrible picture sending becomes even more terrible!! Love you all!!!! Love, Sister Chamberlain
