Elder Oldroyd: Baptism Coming Up!!
Hello peeps!!
This week has been a very good week!! I can’t believe it’s already coming up to May! I can’t believe it! It’s great to hear that the bathroom is almost done haha! I’m sure you guys are sick of sharing the one bathroom! I enjoy the pictures, I promise to start working on writing on the backs of the pics you sent me haha. I have slacked on that, sorry.. but it sounds like you guys had a crazy weather week as well! We have had tornado warnings out here! Good thing is that no tornadoes touched down in Ohio. Unfortunately, other places were not so lucky. I heard about 23 people died in the past few days. The weekend was a little chilly with some wind, but this whole week is going to be nothing but strong wind and a ton of rain! I’m ready to have the sun come out!
Transfers were this week and everyone in the ward thought Jenkins was leaving. Us on the other hand felt we were both staying. Well the missionaries were right! We are both staying in Ashland. Yes, it’s a great thing we are staying. Blessings are coming this way in Ashland. I love this area.
She feels it’s right for her to get baptized!
One blessing happened on Sunday. There is a 15-year old girl named Anna. Her mother is a member but she is less active. They come to church every once in a while but the past few weeks they have been coming. Anna has taken all of the missionary discussions to be prepared for baptism. About 5 months ago she got scared away from some missionaries pushing her to be baptized. She dropped the missionaries and that was the end of that. Since I have been here we haven’t gone over to their home or anything, but just talk to her when we see her. She came up to us after church and said that she needs to tell us something. We thought we were in trouble for some reason..our hearts dropped. But she came out saying that she prayed about it for a few weeks now and says that she feels it’s right for her to get baptized! We both freaked out and were super excited! That was the best random news we have ever heard haha. Crazy huh?? To make it even better, she picked to be baptized on May 18th (my birthday). It’s going to be awesome haha. That’s the best news I have in Ashland. Also this past week we did a ton of service! Springtime is the season to do yard work and we had a total of 14 1/2 hours of service. It was pretty crazy!
