Sister Chamberlain: My Camera is working

Hello, Hello :) So first I just have to say that my camera is working finally after 7 whole months!!!!!!!! It was an absolute miracle. I prayed and prayed and every time I plugged in my camera…..nothing haha and then yesterday I was like let’s just give it a go…. and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sister Sargsyan and I spent the time after planning watching my wisdom teeth videos :)

Quote of the Week:

So be kind regarding human frailty—your own as well as that of those who serve with you in a Church led by volunteer, mortal men and women. Except in the case of His only perfect Begotten Son, imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with. That must be terribly frustrating to Him, but He deals with it. So should we.

-Elder Holland

Scripture of the Week: I chose this scripture because I have had it on my planner this transfer to remind me to consecrate my time and efforts to the Lord. Also to be accountable for ourselves and the work we do in our areas to the Lord and not just "fear" our leaders opinions and such. One of the sisters on exchanges pointed it out to me when our mission had decided that that is what we would focus on.

This is when the people want a king and Mosiah proposes that they should have judges instead and the people are told about his plan and they know his words to be true.

38 Therefore they relinquished their desires for a king, and became exceedingly anxious that every man should have an equal chance throughout all the land; yea, and every man expressed a willingness to answer for his own sins.

Mosiah 29:38

So basically this week has been splendid!! We had Bonfire night which was well fun! I do love a good bonfire and fireworks! Abdul came which was great! I don’t know if I told you about Abdul but he is from Saudi Arabia and Muslim. So a bit scary with all of the religious issues, we don’t want him to get into trouble for changing his religion or something. So the protocol for our mission is if a Muslim from a country where you must be Muslim or you will face severe persecution or even death, must speak with our mission president before learning more. So before we can teach him more he has to talk with President Millar. It makes me so sad that that even has to be a worry. There is a family in London right now from somewhere in the middle east who was baptized a few years ago that might have to be deported back but if they do they will be killed so they are trying to get on the refugee list. Our other investigator was mugged and stabbed last week. He was rushed to a hospital outside of our area and was there for a few weeks because he was beat up SUPER badly. AH the world is absolutely crazy. Speaking of which there is a mad drunk man sound asleep on the computer right across from me. When I get home I just want to really help people. I mean I know I am out here with their spiritual needs but I want to be able to help them with their temporal needs as well. There is just so much suffering. We have a homeless friend named Gary that we see on the bus every now and again and he lives in the woods. He lost everything. His wife and two sons died within a 18 month period. His other son and daughter won’t let him live with him so he lives in the woods. It’s just insane. I could go on for days. You think of England and you never think of the living situations that I have seen people in. And the sad thing is that there are people living like that back at home as well. Ah well I could go on for days but I will stop now.

So I will find out if I am moving on Saturday so hang tight cause I am pretty positive that if I stay I will stay here until the end and if I move where ever I go that will be where I stay so this is a pretty exciting moves call! We made cupcakes for all of our new neighbors which was fun. Everyone was so surprised that we would do something so nice. One guy didn’t take them because he thought we were weird. The family right by us though is from Alaska and so, so kind! They are taking us to lunch this week! And they ordered us a box of fruit and veg!!

Well I love you all!!! Have a fantastic week :) :)

Love, Sister Chamberlain
