Elder Landgren: E Al. One More Week of Transfers, Two Miracles

Well there is only one more week of this transfer left. It has been a really good transfer. I have learned a lot but we haven’t had much going on this last transfer because all of our investigators that were supposed to be baptized just seemed to disappear.

So we had two miracles happen this last week. There were a lot more than that but these are the ones that really stuck out to me the most.

First we got to church and we were waiting for our investigators Marli to come to church and she never came. This is now two weeks in a row that she hasn’t come so we are getting really really worried for her. We were pretty down so we sat down at church and were waiting and then all a sudden we got a text from one of our other investigators, Neal and he said that he was in front of the church. We were so shocked. Neal was a guy we ran into a few weeks ago and would always text and try to meet with but he never responded but for some reason decided to come to church. Well he stayed the whole three hours and then after we walked with him to the subway he told us that he already had a Book of Mormon and his friends back in Brazil are Mormon and had already talked to him about the BOM. So we set up another time to visit him and hope everything goes well.

The other miracle was, I sat on a bus and saw a guy who clearly was from Portugal so I sat down by him and started to talk to him. He told me he wasn’t interested (also people from Portugal are in general a little bit ruder about religion topics) but I kept talking to him and told him I was learning Portuguese and then he said okay I’ll practice with you. Well while this was going on a lady who absolutely hates our church and who we always see on the bus saw me talking to this guy. So she came up to us and started yelling at us telling the guy not to let me talk to him. Then she said she was going to send in a complaint to the TTC to make it so we can’t talk to people on buses. Well while she was saying that, the Portuguese guy stood up and told the lady in a pretty strong voice “Sit down ya fagot me and this boy are having a good conversation about God you leave us alone.” I didn’t approve of the way he went about it but that’s what I wanted to say to her. So she sat down and he said, “Sorry about that, you boys are doing a good job people need to talk more about God. Ya we have different beliefs but it’s good to talk about them. I hate that people are rude to you boys for no reason.” It was so amazing that a Portuguese guy would stand up for us. There are a lot of just rude people in this city and I feel like I know all of them cause I’ve been here for so long. But it is always nice to see people stand up for others when other people are trying to tear us down.

Well I wasn’t home sick this last week. I don’t know why.  I was the week before. Mom don’t worry, really I’m still happy and doing fine

Well we are going to see the tower today so that should be fun. I love you all so much.

Our new president is a super cool guy. It is weird not having President Scott though.
