Elder Oldroyd: “ooooh you are soooo beautiful!!”

Hello out there!!

Well, first off Happy Easter this Sunday! I’m sad that I missed out on the Nicholson Easter Party! But I really did appreciate that letter you sent me! So thank you for that! I’m glad that everyone had fun there. It seemed like it was a fun time, according to the pictures that you sent me. I still remember the time when I was little and saw an egg on the bathroom sink. I had a problem where I was too short (go figure) to reach it. I ended up standing on the toilet to reach as far as I could to get that dang egg. I slipped and nailed my chin on the edge of the sink. I remember bleeding and then the next thing was getting stitches. I remember like it was yesterday.. It tickled, let’s put it that way haha. Easter has always been a good time for me. Have awesome egg hunts and getting bags and bags of candy, money, or things I needed. Well now growing up it’s a little different. I think with some holidays we kinda take the true perspective out. It’s great when you’re younger and you get all of these goodies. Now when we get older, as we understand the true meaning it might even be better than what it was when we were little.

Dad you’re a stud for managing getting the three kido’s to their soccer games! Did you ever think that you were going to coach Alex’s team?? haha I’m glad that everything worked out for you and that Jason was able to help out. Dad good luck on your talk this Sunday! I know you will do well, you’re a very good speaker. Giving talks is a good thing, because it motivates us to study a certain topic and we will figure out new things or things we may have forgotten. It will be a great opportunity to be able to speak! It looks like you had fun on your trip momma! It looked like you all had fun and the weather was on your side haha. You’re looking really good though! Keep smiling, never forget that!

This week was interesting. We had a promising investigator that seemed pretty interested in getting baptized. It was a part-member family but unfortunately we got bad news from her saying that her husband found out enough information and didn’t want to take the discussions anymore but still wanted us to come over for dinner sometime because they like us. That was a disappointing moment. But I have a feeling later on down the road he will come around.

We were on exchanges on Thursday after we had an interview with President Vellinga. Elder Williams came into my area with me for the exchanges. He only has two months left of his mission. It’s crazy that he will be leaving soon. This is going to be his last area most likely. He is a good missionary. We didn’t have a lot of the same interests in almost everything. But they still went really well. We went to go and visit Bro Felder (paps) when we did that, one old lady came up to us and it seemed like she was giving us a blessing haha she was rubbing our arms and saying “ooooh you are soooo beautiful !!” She then grabbed my hand and kissed it like 6 times haha then the same thing to Williams. After that she got up and went away. His face went flush red haha it was hilarious! I was laughing pretty hard. We couldn’t believe that just happened. Another lady that always makes gross/sexual remarks towards me comes over and grabs my hand from behind, I turn around with my hand still being held in hers and she said “my turn” with a big grin on her face. She kissed my hand as well. I felt really weird. We got outta there. It was pretty funny though.

This week was a good week though. We all fall off the horse at times, but it’s a matter of dusting ourselves off and getting back on. Keep your chin up and have fun this week. It’s a great day to be a Mormon!! Have a great week everyone. Thanks for all of your support and I really do appreciate the e-mails and letters. It helps anyone who is away from home.

Love Elder Oldroyd
