Sister Chamberlain: Mission Leadership Counsel

Because my mother said so :)……. Quote of the week:

People need to lighten up and assume best intent always!

– Julia Jane Chamberlain

It’s a pretty good one huh?

So this week was simply amazing! Kingston was so, so fun. I was with Sister Lydiksen. She is from San Diego but went to LDSBC last year so we had some common favorite places in Salt lake so that was fun. She also had really good CDs to listen to which is fun. And she made me delicious treats. I am excited to go on exchanges in Kingston or with her again who knows if I’ll go with her or her comp but her companion is Sister Lineekare from Finland and she served in the Bristol Zone when I was there and she is awesome so whoever I feel impressed to go with I am real excited! Anyways then Sister Sargysan came yay! She is great! She is still learning English and our cultures are way different but it is way fun to learn about. She went to Iran for uni for a little while so it is so interesting to learn more about all of these different cultures. I don’t know if it is a cultural thing or if she is just really nice but she keeps giving me things constantly so I am not complaining haha :) plus she is very motivated and excited to be here!

Yay sister training leaders! I look weird cause i am sitting on my feet. well and cause that is how my face looks :)

Friday we had MLC which stands for Mission Leadership Counsel. It was probably one of the most spiritual experiences of my mission! First off I just have to explain how the mission is kind of like High School in the fact that you pretty much know everyone and you have good friends that you have served with, came into the mission at the same time, and other friends that you have at least met and it just feels like a big family! So it was so fun to go to this counsel thing and see all of my good friends that I hadn’t seen in such a long time! I hadn’t seen Sister McLeod in 9 months!!!!! (yes i know I haven’t seen you guys in like a year but still) I was so excited to be with them all. Then this is what made it so spiritual. So each transfer we have a mission vision and whatever is added stays in the mission vision for always. Sometimes they don’t add anything new and just go into more detail one of the points.

Yay! mlc :) Mission family! Here are the pictures taken at MLC from Elder Popa!

For example some of the points are teach and train members, use the Book of Mormon effectively and stuff like that. Well usually President prays about it and then just tells us what is going to happen (or so I am told because I have never been to one of these things til Friday) but this time he wanted us all to counsel together. He was so nervous about it because he was afraid we would add something crazy or something. Well we decided to change how we count teaches and put more of our accountability to the Lord as it should be because before it was so easy to just want to go out and get numbers and act like sales people. Anywho, I am writing a novel but some people were skeptical but Pres. asked us to pray about it so without even a second thought we all knelt down and Elder Popa said a prayer. It was the most amazing thing everyone was crying and after the prayer was done we all stayed kneeling for a bit. Ah I can’t explain it well enough but it was so incredible to be there with all of my dear friends who are all doing this same wonderful work petitioning the Lord for the same thing for the same reason, because we love our brothers and sisters and want to help them.
